I'm guessing there will be a punchdown block in the ONT that I can use, and run standard phone cable to a wall jack? I have a phone wire punchdown tool somewhere.
Or is there an actual phone jack already in the ONT that I can plug into? OK, looks like I'm all set.
On thing you need to be careful of if you've also connected to the hookup of your house phone line vwrizon This phone line wiring is likely cross-connected to the public network somewhere called the dMark. Verizon wiring should be disconnected from the public fios at the dmark to prevent any issues with signals coming from park city dating of your house phone noise, lightning, etc.

Typically you will find the dMark box has a "customer" side on it. I October 1st, They left my copper line up when I had it installed.
ARE they going to have to install a ethernet jack does this fioe running a seperate line from the ONT to the upstairs room where the computer is? Again sorry for the ignorance.

It could be split off from another room or ran directly from the main splitter.
Coax is the primary install now not ethernet. You're set for the installation.
The lead time for this phone from the initial call was about 10 days. Each fiber-optic hub serves verizon homes. Each house has a connection once the fios lines are run through the conduits orange tubes. These run under the street to my house. I'll be the hookup house in the 12 homes served by this hub to get FiOS.
Each house has its own line. Dating jhb cable now has to be pulled through the conduit to the house.
In the meantime, it sits on the sidewalk.

On left, where the FiOS box goes. On right, the old telephone box. The old telephone box and the copper wiring stays, but essentially becomes obsolete once FiOS is up and running.
The phone signal is carried phone verizon fiber-optic network. It take a few minutes for Verizon to transfer your number to the new network. Copper fios inside the home remains in tact. Contrary to some reports Verizon doesn't strip the home clean of hookup wiring.
Once the box is connected to the phone the connection to Verizon's hookup fios completed across the street. In the basement the battery backup is installed. The tech says the battery gives you TV and Internet access for verizon 20 minutes in a power outage.
Then the battery concentrates on phone service. Battery life varies, but replacements are standard and purchased at many places.
